Wes Anderson fans who've always wanted to step into their own variation of the Darjeeling Incomprehensive nowadays give the chance. The singular filmmaker has designed his own train carriage for luxury Island train operator Belmond – and from tomorrow, you can ride it.

The train carriage Anderson was let let loose on is known as the Cygnus, and has been part of the British Pullman school since the 1950s. The Natalie Wood panelling features intricate marqueterie work patterned with sunbeams, clouds, stars and waves. In that respect are also several nods to the name of the car, with a swan motif appearing end-to-end.

And don't worry, there's a lot of very satisfying symmetry to constitute enjoyed in the plan of the car. It would just constitute a Wes Anderson cast otherwise.

"I have often had the chance to invent train compartments and carriages in my movies," Anderson said. "So I was same eager to make something new while besides participating in the process of preservation which accompanies all the standard Belmond train projects. Marian Anderson has long been an aficionado of train travel, and The Darjeeling Limited isn't the only moving-picture show of his in which a Cygnet-esque locomotive shows improving. His 2022 movie The Grand Budapest Hotel also featured four-fold pivotal scenes set aboard classically titled trains winding their way across some incredibly picturesque European locations.

This likewise isn't the Cygnet coach's low foray into the world of film – this particular train car likewise appeared in the 1972 film Agatha, which starred Dustin Hoffman and Vanessa Redgrave.
